Illness Management Recovery (IMR) uses educational, behavioral, and relapse-prevention strategies to reduce the serious symptoms of mental illness and help people recover their ability to work and maintain healthy relationships. It is delivered in a supportive group format. Research outcomes include improved coping skills, social support, lessening of symptoms of mental illness, and reduced suicidal behaviors.
Psycho-Education Multi-Family Group (PMFG) is a group treatment that uses specific educational and problem-solving strategies to help both individuals and families cope with serious mental illness. Research-based outcomes include improved employment for clients, reduced acute mental illness relapses, reduced symptoms, and improved family functioning.
